Mercury Marine is introducing a new 9.9hp TwoStroke outboard that is it says is the lightest in its class. The portable, compact and popular-sized engine is also said to provide exceptional power.
Weighing in from just 26kg (57lbs), the new 169cc model is not only easier to lift and carry than competitive products, its compact design means it’s simple to handle, Mercury says.
An optional push-button electric start model also makes it a pleasure to operate for all boaters from old salts to kids and crew.
Mercury’s new 9.9hp TwoStroke features loop-charge combustion designed to deliver reliable performance and better fuel economy so owners can stay out longer and go further on a tank of fuel.
The through-prop exhaust reduces engine noise for a quieter boating experience and cuts down on fumes back onboard.
The primary features of the new Mercury 9.9hp TwoStroke are:
>> Ultralight from just 26kg
>> Simple push-button electric start as an option
>> Compact design for easy handling
>> Reliable and economical
>> Pleasantly quiet
As with all outboards in Mercury’s extensive lineup – from 2.5 through to 400hp – the new 9.9hp TwoStroke has anti-corrosion protection.
Owners will gain additional peace of mind from Mercury’s service network.
The new 9.9hp TwoStroke is available through all Mercury Outboard Dealers. More at www.mercurymarine.com.au.
Built by Tohatsu under a long-standing agreement, the new 9.9hp is based on the Japanese engine maker's 9.8hp with the same capacity, weight and primary features.
